Avengers: Infinity War

meteordustI've been away for a few weeks, and I'm still catching up on stuff. One of the things I have caught up on is Infinity War. Spoilery thoughts below. (Although is there anything left to say about Infinity War?)
I have to admit, I was not particularly looking forward to seeing this movie. Because it's Part 1 of 2, I was expecting half a story and a cliffhanger ending. But I knew everyone would be talking about it, so I decided to go see it last week, and not a year from now when the conclusion comes. Like the first Deathly Hallows movie, it was something to get through. It went pretty much exactly as I expected.
Even though the movie was released almost a month ago, I was fairly lucky about spoilers. The only thing I heard was that lots of favourite characters died, which I already guessed was likely. And with comic book deaths, it's hard to believe that they're going to stick.
The big drawcard of a movie like this is, all your faves get to meet and bounce off each other in interesting ways. It's like a giant crossover event, so that aspect was pretty cool. I'm here for all the character interactions.
The big problem with multiple storylines is, not all storylines are going to be equally appealing. For example, Thanos makes me feel nothing but boredom and dislike, which is kind of a drawback when he's supposed to be the main villain.
Things I enjoyed: the Big Damn Hero moment when Steve, Nat and Sam swoop in to save Wanda and Vision. Peter and everything about him. Bruce reuniting with friends and catching up on events. Growing to like Rocket for the first time. Groot sacrificing part of himself for the axe. T'Challa and Shuri and everyone in Wakanda. Bucky getting better. Nat saying, "She's not alone."
