Because I still have a lot of thoughts about Arthur Harrow. This is kind of an origin story, and also kind of the opposite.

Because it's been a long time coming, and it's better late than never.

Bo-Katan won my heart in that very first scene, when Din accused her of not being Mandalorian and also stealing that armour, and instead of ripping into him she took a deep breath and calmly explained, (1) that she was very Mandalorian indeed, and (2) that he was in a cult.

After the end of Season 2, with a long wait until Season 3, I started an unofficial and unconnected series, "What Din Djarin Did During His Long Hiatus" aka "Din Djarin And The Various People I Ship Him With".

I've been wanting to write this story for a while, but I've been real hesitant about writing for Bo-Katan when I haven't watched The Clone Wars or Rebels. I did get some useful advice on which episodes featured the relevant story arcs, and earlier this year I finally managed to watch them. I'm very glad I did!

On the other hand, this delay meant Season 3 was suddenly around the corner. What's more stressful than trying to finish a story before the new season starts and you get jossed? Failing to finish a story before the new season starts and actually getting jossed week by week.

So anyway! I've been loving the new season, but I'm also relieved this story is done.

Series: Part 3 of Three Futures in Glass and Sand

I've never written a 10K fic before! (Except for a chaptered WIP, which is still incomplete, and also a different process and headspace.) I'm kind of proud of myself for it. Like, I've never signed up for any long wordcount exchanges, because that's not my forte. I feel a bit ridiculous doing 10K just for myself, on a story that probably has very niche appeal. But I'm glad it exists, and I'm relieved it's done.

There's always a kind of comedown after finishing a project, and this been living in my head for the past two months. I'm feeling weirdly deflated. Like, now what? (Though I do know what - everything that's been on hold in the meantime, not least of all Yuletide. How is it almost December?)
meteordust: (Default)
Because apparently I'm not over my Moon Knight obsession.

I thought I was done after the last fic which took months to finish. But I guess not because this fic has been living in my head for the last three weeks. And now it's finally complete! And now I can get back to work on the WIPs I'm supposed to! (Unless another Moon Knight idea takes over.)

Anyway. This fic could also be tagged "ALL MY FEELINGS LET ME SHOW YOU THEM".

I've been working on this story for several months, on and off, and I'd really wanted to get it posted before The Book of Boba Fett aired.

Well, that didn't happen, so it's probably already been jossed. Here it is anyway, my last fic of the year, and my latest fic in the unofficial and unconnected series, "What Din Djarin Did During His Long Hiatus" aka "Din Djarin And The Various People I Ship Him With".

Wow. More than anything I could have dreamed, and if you want to play through a beautifully written mythic story about the Masters of the Bazaar, I highly recommend it! (Now with added endnotes.) This has been an incredible Yuletide for me.

This was the first time I signed up for the Trick or Treat exchange, and it was a lovely, low pressure, low stress exchange. I've only ever done Yuletide before, and it was cool to try something different like making gifts themed as tricks or as treats. I'm definitely up for it again next year.
