It was yet another long, gloriously unproductive day. Saw The Matrix Revolutions, browsed the bookshops in the city, had dinner at Centrepoint, checked out a new karaoke place, and did a lot of hanging out and talking. Didn't end up getting home till past midnight. Managed a few hundred words before falling into bed.
Everyone's been saying that the third Matrix movie is much better than the second one, and I would agree. They fixed the pacing and tightened up the action sequences - some of them might have been long, but they weren't boring. For me, the highlights were the battle for Zion (mechs! woo! real live mechs!) and the final confrontation between Neo and Agent Smith.
The philosophy of it all - especially in terms of the Oracle's role - still wasn't entirely satisfactory. I mean, there's a difference between good ambiguity (richness of the text leading to multiple potential readings) and bad ambiguity (just plain confusing). Ah well, anyway, it's done.
Oh, and they played the trailer for The Return of the King.
I'm counting down the days.
