Well, this is Gravity - what do you expect? Fairness was never part of the GMs' intentions, just to keep the money rolling in and the system running. Novae Inflammo were bad, but to get heated over opportunism is to miss the point - it's just a game. Obviously, keeping a castle in this case is not a matter of skill or teamwork as people would believe, but luck. In any case, it can't be *just* Novae Inflammo members who managed to attack the castles; surely there must have been others who wanted to try too, just that they failed to capitalize as well while the defenders remained locked-out.
