I got home too late for the women's final, but it's awesome that Li Na has made history.
I made sure I was home for the men's final, because the first Fedal grand slam final in two years, and the first since I got into tennis again.
I managed to get on an excellent livestream, which was probably 90% as good as television coverage. I think I have wiped out my monthly quota though.
I adore Rafa, but I was actually hoping that Roger would win this time. He has never won against Rafa at Roland Garros, and it just feels like it would complete something. Especially if he evolves his game to an even higher level to meet the challenge.
But maybe it's not his destiny yet, I don't know.
Nonetheless, it was a riveting, seesawing, unpredictable match, that could have gone either way at key moments.
I was excited for the first few hours. Wilting towards 3 AM. Rather selfishly hoping that it would not go to five sets. Very glad to see match point.
Woo, sleep.
