Today is the first day in seven years that the world number one male tennis player is someone other than Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal.

I'm sorry for all the times I blithely dismissed Roger losing with, "He's won so many titles already, let someone else have a chance." Because now I get how it feels to want your favourite player to win, and how agonising it is to watch it fall apart.
