Unbelievable

This was the finale I was tempted to skip watching, I felt so unenthused at the prospect. Novak has been on fire for the past year, and I had no desire to watch him steamroller Rafa again.
But I should have known better. Rafa is never going to let himself be steamrollered. The more you push him, the more he rises to the occasion. (Which may be why Roger says, "I always think he plays a bit better against me than against other players.")
And turns out that Novak is capable of that too.
Jim Courier, commentating, said, "Can you believe that the guy with 16 majors has to change his game against the guy with 10 majors, who has to change his game against the guy with 4 majors?"
At 4-4 in the fifth set, after a 32 shot rally, the crowd on its feet screaming--
The match teetering back and forth on a knife edge--
This is tennis.
Djokovic def Nadal: 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-7, 7-5.
Total match time: 5 hours 53 minutes.
(And now. I must sleep.)
