SO MUCH VMARS NOSTALGIA.
The movie made me feel like it was Season 1 all over again. <3 <3 <3
Loved seeing all the characters again. Wallace and Mac and, oh, Keith Mars! Cliff and Vinnie and Leo and Principal Clemmons! Loved seeing Veronica doing what she does best.
Oh, *Logan*. I do find it slightly hilarious that they've gone all 'officer and a gentleman' on him, but it is the kind of character redemption I'd hoped for him to find. And the drive home the long way round, across the bridge all glowy with lights, gave me so many feelings.
Most of all, the ending is so right, Veronica taking on the mantle of Mars Investigations, choosing to fight the good fight, walking the line on the edge of the law, to protect the vulnerable and innocent against the ruthless and corrupt. It's the best of noir. It's the heart of noir. She really would have been a square peg in a round hole at the FBI or in a law firm. Here, it feels like she's finally coming home.
