Dear Trick or Treat Writer,
Thank you so much for offering to write a story for me! The characters I've nominated are my favourites from their canons, and I'm keen to see what you come up with for them! I've requested fanfic for the below canons.
I've provided some prompts in case you're looking for inspiration, but I'd also love to see whatever other ideas capture your imagination. I'm open to tricks or treats, so feel free to interpret my prompts either way.
LIKES FOR THIS EXCHANGE: ghosts, supernatural beings, creepypasta, psychological horror, whump (without permanent harm), heroism, moments of relaxation and happiness.
DISLIKES FOR THIS EXCHANGE: noncon, mutilation, gruesome deaths, bleak endings (though ambiguous or bittersweet are fine).
RATING: I'm fine with explicit sex, but it's usually not the most important part of the story for me.
STYLE: I'm fine with first, second, or third person. I'm fine with past or present tense. I'm fine with stories of any length, including stories that start in media res.
POV: I'm open to stories from the point of view of a different character from the ones nominated, especially if they provide an interesting perspective on the nominated characters.
AUS: I like seeing the characters in their own settings, so I would prefer no alternate universes like high school, coffee shop, or omegaverse. However, I like alternate universes where something happened differently in canon.
I've listed more details under each individual request.
I hope this helps. Have fun writing!
Yours sincerely,
meteordust

Request 1: 10-lb Penalty - Dick Francis (Benedict Juliard)
I am extremely fond of Ben, even though he is not your typical Dick Francis hero. He starts off rather naive and idealistic, because of his youth and because his father is very much a benevolent dictator over his life. But I love that Ben has empathy, common sense, quick thinking, and personal bravery. I love that he risks his life to help his father win his election campaign, and his father grows to appreciate and respect him properly for the first time.
Ideas for tricks or treats:
* Ben goes campaigning with his father in a remote village that has uncanny secrets. Maybe they stand guard over a hellmouth. Maybe they practise ritual sacrifice. Maybe the inhabitants aren't even human.
* Ben gets kidnapped or blackmailed by someone who wants to stop his father campaigning or to influence his father in office.
Relationships: If you would like to include shipping, I have no particular preferences for this canon.

Request 2: Captive Prince - CS Pacat (Damen)
Oh, Damen. He is my fave because of his courage, competence, and good heart. I love when actions he thinks are ordinary and necessary, stun and impress people with their awesomeness.
Ideas for tricks or treats:
* Damen was fatally wounded at the end of the series, and Laurent was only pretending that he was going to be okay. (This is my crack theory, which will doubtless be jossed by the epilogue.) Damen comes back as a ghost, whether or not he realises it.
* Damen is visited by the ghost of Auguste, at some time before, during, or after canon. Maybe it haunts him, or has a message for him, or has a dying wish that needs to be fulfilled. Or maybe it just hangs around delivering unwanted advice.
* Damen meets one or more of his Vaskian daughters. They may or may not have accurate preconceptions of each other.
Relationships: If you would like to include shipping, I would enjoy reading about Damen with any of Laurent, Auguste, or Nikandros.

Request 3: Dungeons and Dragons (Hank the Ranger)
Hank is my favourite character from the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon. He's still a teenager, but he has to be a leader, be responsible for the group, and look after everyone. Also, archers are cool.
Ideas for tricks or treats:
* What if Hank shot Venger in "The Dragon's Graveyard"? Would this have consequences that shadow the kids, in the Realm or after they return to our world?
* What if Hank came back wrong from his disappearance in "The Winds of Darkness"? How long would it take for the others to realise? What if only one person realised?
* What if Hank had to use skills and knowledge he acquired in the Realm, to deal with a problem back in his own world?
Relationships: If you would like to include shipping, I would enjoy reading about Hank with any of Eric, Diana, or Sheila. For this fandom, I would prefer that any sex only occurs when the characters are of age.

Request 4: Seafort Saga - David Feintuch (Nicholas Seafort, Edgar Tolliver, Vax Holser, Alexi Tamarov)
I love all these characters for their loyalty, bravery, sacrifice, and intense UST. I'm equally happy to read angst or fluff, adventure or slice of life, about any of them.
Ideas for tricks or treats:
* He comes across a derelict ship or an abandoned outpost. Of course he has to investigate.
* He goes on shore leave together with someone else. They may have very different ideas of what shore leave should be.
* Do they ever tell stories about ghost ships that wander through space, or lost colonies that vanished off the map, or sightings of alien artefacts?
Relationships: If you would like to include shipping, I ship all four of these characters in any combination.
