Works are revealed for the Hurt/Comfort Exchange! I received an amazing Chronicles of Amber story:
Title: May Bear the Scar of You
Fandom: Chronicles of Amber
Rating: Mature
Archive Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Category: Gen
Characters: Brand, Martin
Additional Tags: Hurt/Comfort, Lima Syndrome, Stockholm Syndrome, Non-Explicit Torture, Metaphysics, Blood Magic, Dysfunctional Family
Summary:
It was probably always going to be Martin. The Trump with a dagger through it was a lie, though. I expect that the old man thought it would be more dramatic that way, more likely to get Corwin to see me as a serious threat.
Not that I wasn't. Not that I hadn't hurt Martin. I just hadn't been that fucking stupid about it. What I'd done was worse, but Corwin wouldn't have seen it that way. Most of my siblings wouldn't understand that because none of them really remembered being seventeen.
Thank you so much, dear writer! This story has so many things I love about Amber: tense psychological interactions, complicated relationships, and cool worldbuilding.
Hurt/comfort is one of my favourite tropes. Looking forward to reading through the rest of the collection, with 239 works in 145 fandoms.
