And at 11:38 PM, this was my final word count:
Today - 5090
Total - 50130
Yes. I finished.
I wrote the last 4000 words in four hours, and some of it sucked to hell and some of it was obviously filler and some of it actually turned out pretty decent, but in any case, I finished.
I seem to recall something I said at the start of the month about not wanting to write 10K in the last two days. I seem to have ended up writing 5K on the last day, which is an uncanny coincidence.
These last four days have just been insane. I've been out the whole day every day, and writing when I get back at night. No time to update the LJ or even check my friends list. And even once I reached my 50,000 words, I had to rush onto RO straight away to attend Ash and Lumi's wedding.
I'm hell tired.
The weird thing is, I expected to be a lot more excited about finishing than I am right now. Maybe it's burnout from the last few days. Or maybe it's because I still have a heap of stuff lined up for the coming week, and my mind's already racing ahead.
Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who encouraged me and supported me during NaNo. Without you, it would have been a lot tougher, a lot lonelier, and a lot easier to slack off. I appreciate all of you.
And now, I think I will go sleep.

Date: 2003-11-30 01:58 pm (UTC)Will you be doing anything more to it now that the month is over, or was it just a cathartic kind of thing?

Well, ok, I suppose you earned a short break. :)

Date: 2003-12-02 09:08 am (UTC)Ten thousand is more than what most people do. And I'm still looking forward to finding out about Legolas and Gimli's apartment life.
