And at 11:38 PM, this was my final word count:

Today - 5090
Total - 50130

Yes. I finished.

I wrote the last 4000 words in four hours, and some of it sucked to hell and some of it was obviously filler and some of it actually turned out pretty decent, but in any case, I finished.

I seem to recall something I said at the start of the month about not wanting to write 10K in the last two days. I seem to have ended up writing 5K on the last day, which is an uncanny coincidence.

These last four days have just been insane. I've been out the whole day every day, and writing when I get back at night. No time to update the LJ or even check my friends list. And even once I reached my 50,000 words, I had to rush onto RO straight away to attend Ash and Lumi's wedding.

I'm hell tired.

The weird thing is, I expected to be a lot more excited about finishing than I am right now. Maybe it's burnout from the last few days. Or maybe it's because I still have a heap of stuff lined up for the coming week, and my mind's already racing ahead.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who encouraged me and supported me during NaNo. Without you, it would have been a lot tougher, a lot lonelier, and a lot easier to slack off. I appreciate all of you.

And now, I think I will go sleep.

Good stuff, Meteor! ^_^ We knew you could do it!

Will you be doing anything more to it now that the month is over, or was it just a cathartic kind of thing?

I'm still thinking about that question. Some of it I wrote as backstory for another project I'm working on, so parts of it might end up there. I've also been thinking that maybe I could take some of it and put a zine together.

I can't help but feel a little responsible for keeping you away from the writing yesterday, but I'm glad you came anyway. Congrats on finishing! when do we get to read? :P

Wouldn't have missed it for anything - thanks for inviting me! Um, not sure yet how long it'll take me to get this thing into shape. With luck, I might be able to post an excerpt in a couple of weeks. We'll see...

Congratulations! We all knew you could do it, and you didn't disappoint.

Don't think we're letting you off the hook now, though. You've got a large audience expecting to read this soon, so back to work! >:D

Well, ok, I suppose you earned a short break. :)

Thanks! Though the audience thing makes me nervous - you mean I have to go make this all good now? *sweatdrop*

Thanks! It's my second go at NaNo, and I just wanted to see if I could do what I didn't last year.

Ten thousand is more than what most people do. And I'm still looking forward to finding out about Legolas and Gimli's apartment life.

Congrats!! Huge effort. Well done. I know what you mean about the anticlimax - all I feel is relief and a gap for not having a word count today.

Yeah, it's weird, not to have it looming in your mind as the major task of the day. One of the things that got to me during the month was the lack of a break. You couldn't finish your 1666 words and just relax - you knew you had to *do it all again* the next day.

It's nice to be able to relax now, but I feel like I'm being lazy. I want to get back into my other writing projects, before I lose momentum...
