Neil Gaiman mentions on his blog that before the Good Omens movie project got shelved, Johnny Depp was going to play Crowley.

Waahh.

How cool would that have been?

Isn't the plural of apocalypse "apocalypi"? :) Of course, that begs the question of how you can have more than one in the first place...

I'd have loved to see a Good Omens film. *sigh*

I'm ashamed to say that the thought crossed my mind too. But only for a moment. He's waaaay too young for the part, and nothing like what I'd imagine Aziraphale to be.

just another thought. in the book, War's sword was the very same one Aziraphale carried round defending the tree of wisdom. a comment on the state of politics in the world today you think? it's all about the oil, you know.

It's been a while since I read the book thoroughly (I usually just pick it up to browse the A/C passages), but it's very possible a comment was intended. Neither of authors are really shy about pointing out that kind of thing.

I've been reading a surprising amount of Good Omens fanfic recently. I can't get enough good Aziraphale/Crowley, especially stuff written like the book - slightly slashy gen. I don't really think of it as one of my fandoms, but I love the fic.
