Hikago drabble

Endless
Sometimes Hikaru can glimpse it, that endless chain stretching from past to future. Sai is one link, but so is Grandpa, and Touya, and all the others he has met along his journey.
Hikaru closes his eyes, imagining the whisper of willows, the laughter of court ladies, the clack of a stone upon a goban. Once it was a world.
He opens his eyes, and the present day floods back: traffic, crowds, conversation. Someday this too will be gone. But Go will endure, children not yet born striding the same path he did, himself one more link in the chain.
